A generic mechanic's assortment looks reassuring until the one socket aboard does not fit the prop hardware, the pliers are rusted shut and the flashlight is buried beneath oily spares. Buy individual tools when that produces a smaller, better-fitting set. A compact socket-and-wrench assortment can make sense if most pieces match installed fasteners; otherwise it is paid ballast. Tools and spares are different inventories
